Dreaming of Bob

Been listening a lot to Bill Laswell’s remixes of Bob Marley. I’ve been on the fence for years whether the “reinterpretations” are good or bad, but pack rat that I am, I kept my vinyl copy, even though I’ve sold all my other Bob Marley records. Well, it’s sounding good these days. The mixes have a sketchiness to them that makes me believe Laswell didn’t obsess over them (note to self). It’s a great lesson, and listen, in shapeshifting.

Now, if I could pick anyone for Laswell to remix inna ambient styleee it would be the Sugarcubes. Bjork and Einar in dub — For the love of Deus, someone make this happen!
